🎃 Howl-O-Ween Pawty: A Spooktacular Success at Our Heights Location! 🐾

On October 18th, our Heights location transformed into Houston’s most paw-some Halloween destination! The Wag’n World Howl-O-Ween Pawty was filled with laughter, wagging tails, and plenty of spooky-cute costumes as dogs and their humans came together for an unforgettable day of fun, community, and four-legged fashion.

👻 Costume Contest Highlights

From superheroes and skeletons to tiny tacos and fairy princesses, the creativity this year was next-level! Pups strutted their stuff on the “paw-walk” during our costume contest, where our judges had the nearly impossible task of picking winners from so many adorable entries. Every dog looked ready for the runway and we loved seeing how much effort our pet parents put into each outfit!

🐕 Fun, Friends, and Festivities

Guests enjoyed treat stations, music, photo ops, and plenty of opportunities to play and mingle. It was a day full of smiles (and slobber) as familiar faces and new friends joined in the festivities. Between the pumpkin-themed backdrops, our spooky selfie corner, and all the tail-wagging energy, the Heights location was bursting with Halloween spirit!

🛍️ Local Vendors & Community Love

We were thrilled to welcome a variety of local vendors who came out to share their amazing products and support our community. From homemade dog treats and festive bandanas to pup-centric accessories, there was something special for everyone. Wag’n World is proud to be a part of such a vibrant Houston community, where small businesses lift each other up and celebrate together.

Book for Holiday Boarding!

Hello Pawrents,

Our holiday boarding is filling up fast, don't wait to reserve your spot now! Our Montrose location is currently 80% full for Thanksgiving and Heights isn't too far behind, especially for large and family size kennels. Create your reservations online through your customer portal, or reach out to our staff to help you get booked. You can also add on a grooming appointment to get your pup nice and spiffy for the holidays! 

Daycare will be blocked temporarily during the following days to reserve space for boarding requests first. If you already have daycare scheduled during these dates, it will not be cancelled. An announcement will be sent out when daycare is available again during these dates.

  • November, Monday the 24th - Saturday the 29th

  • December, Friday the 19th - January, Monday the 1st

As a reminder, any boarding reservation during the holidays is required to have a 50% deposit paid, unless there are sufficient boarding packages on your account. Please see our Cancellation and Deposit policy on the website for more information. 

Also listed below are common FAQ's we receive about what belongings and food you're able to bring for your pet's stay. We want your pup to be as happy and comfortable as can be, but we do have some restrictions on certain items. Please let us know if you'd like any clarification!

Important Update to Package Expiration Policy

Dear Wag’n World Family,

At Wag’n World, we are always working to provide the best care for your pups while keeping our business sustainable so we can continue serving our community for years to come. We want to share an important update to our daycare and boarding packages.

What’s Changing:
Starting September 15, 2025, all NEW packages purchased will include an expiration period:

Daycare Packages: Valid for 90 days (3 months) from the purchase date 

Boarding Packages: Valid for 180 days (6 months) from the purchase date

 This change will help us better plan and forecast our daily, weekly, and monthly operations, and it encourages families to take full advantage of the savings and benefits of their packages. This new policy will be applied to all 5, 10, 20, and 30 day packages.

What’s Not Changing:

Any current packages purchased before September 15, 2025 will remain exactly as they are today. No expiration dates will be added. You can continue to use them at your own pace. Our commitment to transparency, quality care, and open communication with you remains the same.

We understand this is a shift from how things have been, but this is a fair and necessary step to ensure Wag’n World can keep delivering the safe, loving, and professional care your pups deserve. Thank you for your continued trust and support and for being part of the Wag’n World family. As we gear up for a bustling holiday season, we want to remind you that Wag'n World operates strictly by reservations. This ensures the safety and well-being of all our furry guests and our staff members.  

We have plenty of staff and space for ALL pups to come play. If you want to get in with the fun at Wag'n World, make your reservations now! It can be difficult to forecast the amount of staff needed when reservations are made last minute. This results in limited availability and pups getting added to the waitlist. If you arrive without a reservation, we may not be able to accommodate your pup, and they might have to be placed as a SOLO for the day or even turned away. WE DO NOT WANT THIS! We know you want your pups in for daycare fun and overnight adventures! If you are able, please reserve your daycare and boarding reservations as far in advance as possible. We understand things happen and if you need a last minute reservation, please reach out to us and we will do our best to help you.

Don't forget that your pup can use both our Heights and Montrose locations interchangeably, no new evaluation required! Take advantage of all the features Wag'n World has to offer at both facilities.

Updated Grooming Hair Length Categories

We are wanting to announce an update to our Grooming prices. After much discussion, a new category for hair length has been added. This is to fairly compensate our Groomers for the additional time, effort, and wear on tools when longer hair lengths are requested. Most parents will not see an increase in price unless you are looking for a haircut that is longer than 3/4 inch. 

To clarify, the new hair length categories are as follows: 

  • Smooth Coat - Short, single coat that lays close to the body

  • Short Hair - Length that is up to 1/2 inch after the grooming service is complete

  • Mid Hair - Length that is up to 3/4 inch after the grooming service is complete

  • Long Hair - Length that is up to 1 inch after the grooming service is complete

We are also excited to announce the addition of a "Paw & Nose Balm" and "Blueberry Facial" as add ons for our Grooming services!

Wag’n World 5th Annual Donation Drive!

Wag’n World’s 5th annual blanket and food drive will take place from November 1st to November 30th. All donations will be taken to the Harris County Pets Animal Shelter. Drop off food and blankets for both cats and dogs at our Montrose or Heights facility. The list of items the shelter is in need of are as followed:

  • Cat & kitten food (dry & canned)

  • Cat toys or enrichment items

  • Cat beds (small & washable, NO large dog beds)

  • Cat treats

  • Blankets (small fleece blankets are preferred)

  • Dog & puppy food (dry & canned)

  • Dog treats

  • Pet training pads or "pee" pads

  • Bath mats and bath towels (must be clean)

  • Peanut butter - creamy only, can not contain xylitol or birch sugar

  • Bleach and Laundry Detergent

  • Electric heating pads

  • Newspaper

  • Hand sanitizer
