So many business owners have paid over-the-top prices for marketing firms, influencers, ads, and anything else that promises new clients. I’ve been there too — and what I learned is that most of it is overpriced, ineffective, and built on empty promises.

For years, Wag’n World grew entirely through word of mouth. Our community, our care, and our reputation spoke for themselves. But when I opened our Heights location, I tried hiring outside firms and exploring new marketing avenues. What I found instead were quick-buck “solutions” that didn’t deliver and left me feeling taken advantage of.

That ends here. I’m returning to what’s always worked: real networking, real relationships, and building a hub of business owners who support each other.

The difference now is that I have a strong platform — over 8,500 registered clients and huge social media following on many platforms— to help amplify and share. And I want to use it to grow something even bigger, together with you.

Wag’n World was founded by Nathan Rao in 2017 after he made the bold decision to leave behind a 12-year career in the oil and gas industry to pursue his lifelong love of dogs. What started as a passion quickly transformed into one of Houston’s most trusted and beloved dog care facilities.

Over the past 8.5 years, Nathan has grown Wag’n World from a single vision into a thriving three-location (now two) operation in Montrose and The Heights. Under his leadership, Wag’n World has served thousands of dog parents, caring for over 8,500 registered clients as of the year 2025 and building a strong, loyal community. Nathan’s commitment to quality, transparency, and safety set Wag’n World apart as Houston’s largest independent dog daycare, boarding, and grooming hub.

His journey hasn’t been without challenges. From the early days of navigating the risks of entrepreneurship to weathering the realities of competition and economic ups and downs, Nathan has persevered with resilience, passion, and an unshakable belief in his purpose. With the support of a highly trained, compassionate team, he has created a business that feels more like family — for both the staff and the dogs they care for.

Nathan is also a passionate community builder. Beyond growing Wag’n World, he has launched The Wag’n Pack initiative — a network of local businesses collaborating to support each other through authentic word-of-mouth referrals and community partnerships. His story of growth has inspired others to embrace entrepreneurship with heart, grit, and authenticity.

Outside of work, Nathan enjoys staying active through fitness, cherishing time with his family, and pampering his rescue dog, George — Wag’n World’s unofficial sidekick. Looking ahead, he is dedicated to expanding Wag’n World’s legacy, continuing to innovate in pet care, and helping Houston businesses grow together as a community.
